1928-2018
Ronnie Pierce was a local jazz legend who had been consistently performing in the Seattle area for 76 years, from age 14 until his passing at 90 years old. He has performed with icons such as Billie Holiday, Quincy Jones & Ray Charles, with a career that was born during the big band era of the 1940's-1950s, and continued through opening the 1962 worlds fair and countless other events spanning the decades, most recently performing at Beerfest 2018. He has been inducted into the Seattle jazz hall of fame and is documented in Seattle Library Archives. He has been written about in every major publication in Seattle and has been featured in local film documentaries, on TV & in multiple books about Seattle music history. 
    A free memorial concert comprised of some of Seattles most revered musicians and a few international names will be held on Monday, Nov 19th at 6pm-midnight at the Columbia City Theater. Donations are accepted at the door, and the event is 21+ only.
   Additional events are also in the works for summer, including a posthumous release of his music, historical exhibits, and a jazz tribute concert.
